Dear XDC Families,

The first month of school has quickly passed as we head into October and the second month of school already! During the first week of October, students in Extended Day Care have continued working on weekly themed projects. Students in Extended Day Care worked on fall projects this week. Some of the students’ favorite projects this week were: making autumn books, fall wreaths, leaf-stamp paintings and creating “button-trees.”

A look ahead at next week:

  • Tuesday, October 6th, is picture day for all students and staff.
  •   Wednesday, October 7th, there is an all XDC staff meeting at 6:30 PM.
  •  Friday, October 9th, St. John School will be celebrating the accomplishments of the Jog-a-thon by awarding prizes, drawing a winner for the trampoline, and doing the silly-string showdown.

Next week, the theme is “pumpkins.” Students will begin working on pumpkin crafts and activities.

You can reach the Extended Daycare staff from 7:00 AM-6:30 PM at the following phone numbers: 206-782-9915 or 206-920-0151 or via e-mail at roverby@st-johnschool.org

Sincerely,

Dear XDC Families,

Our first three weeks of school have gone by quickly! As the leaves change color and we fall into the fall season, students in St. John Extended Day Care will continue to participate in weekly “themes.” This week was “leaf” week.

During “leaf” week students in XDC made leaf rubbings using crayons, and collected leaves around the courtyard of St. John School on a “leaf walk.” While exploring nature this week, we enjoyed working together to create artistic projects.

A look ahead at next week:

Next week the theme is “apples.” Throughout “apple” week, we will explore apples through different kinds of science projects, along with math and art activities.
