Dear XDC Families,

This week our theme was “The Weather.” Students in XDC learned about different kinds of weather and created “weather themed” art projects. Some of the students’ favorite projects were; making “sun catchers,” creating umbrellas, watercolor painting and learning “weather themed” songs.

Next week the theme is “Spring.” Students in XDC will begin working on “Spring themed” projects.

Dear XDC Families,

This week our theme was “Pet week.” Students enjoyed learning about pets and “pet themed” crafts and activities. Next week our theme is “St. Patrick’s.” Next week students in XDC will work on St. Patrick’s themed crafts and projects.

A reminder to parents:

March 17th, 2016- noon dismissal: PM Preschool students and students in grades Kindergarten through 5 must purchase the afternoon care for XDC- this half day is not included in your monthly contract.

March 18th, 2016-School not in session: Families may purchase XDC care for the day. This day is not included in your monthly contract.

Easter Holidays- March 28th-April 1st, 2016: Families may purchase XDC care for any of these days. These days are not included in your monthly contract.

To request any of these dates, please complete the order form found on the XDC check-in counter, and return to XDC no later than Tuesday, March 15th, 2016.

Dear XDC Families,

This week our theme was “Forest Animals.” Students in XDC learned about different kinds of animals that live in the forest and participated in “Forest Animal” themed art projects. Some of the students favorite activities this week were; “paper-plate snakes,” coloring and cutting out forest animals, creating “owls” and singing “animal songs.”

Next week our theme is “pet week.” Students in XDC will work on “Pet” art projects and activities.

A reminder to parents:

Dear XDC Families,

This week our theme was “Dental week.” Students in XDC worked on “dental crafts” and activities. Some of the students’ favorite projects this week were; painting “tooth pictures,” practicing brushing and flossing with “model teeth,” and learning about dental health.

Next week our theme is the “Five Senses.” Students will begin learning about and working on projects related to the “Five Senses.”

This week our theme was “Teddy Bears.” Students in XDC enjoyed working on Teddy Bear art projects and activities. Some of the students’ favorite projects this week were; creating felt teddy bears, “terrific teddy bear” paper project, watercolor painting and a “show and tell” day with students’ favorite teddy bears. Next week our theme is “Transportation.” Students in XDC will begin working on Transportation themed crafts and activities.

            A reminder to parents:

• Preschool conferences will be held on Thursday, February 4^th and Friday, February 5^th, 2016. There is no preschool on these days. These no school days for Preschool are non-contracted. Preschoolers who come to XDC on non-contracted days will be charged the all day Extended Care rate.

Some of the students’ favorite projects this week were; “F” for Feather art projects, creating alphabet letters with dot-markers, matching alphabet letters game, sand-art pictures and paper-snowflakes.

Next week our theme is “Teddy Bears.” Students in XDC will work on “Teddy Bear themed” crafts and projects.

Some of the students’ favorite projects this week were; mixing paint to make primary and secondary colors, colored-water “friendship paintings,” learning the names of colors in Spanish and creating oil-pastel paintings.

Dear XDC Families,

This week our theme was “hibernation.” During this week, students in XDC learned about hibernating animals in nature, and participated in “hibernation-themed” hands-on activities. Some of the students’ favorite projects this week were; “snoozing lady-bugs” art project, “counting dice activity in a bear-cave,” “dot and tape Alphabet letters” and a “bear-face” cooking project.

Next week our theme is “colors.” Students in XDC will begin working on color-themed projects and activities.

A reminder to parents:

• Monday, January 18^th, 2016 is a no school day. XDC is closed. (Martin Luther King Holiday)
